Re: Moses not signing
I SUSPECT that Moses needs to put down roots and feel part of the club instead of essentially being boots for hire.

Definitely has ability but needs to feel part of something to get his head up.

That is where Antonio has had the edge over him, we have invested in him and he has invested in us.

Hope the lad finds a club rather than have an entire career as Chelsea rent-a-boots.

indeed, chelsea buy lots of players as financial assets rather than for or eventually for their first team long term.

Re: Moses not signing
Moses should stand up for himself and get himself a proper football career.

He's good enough for one.

Transfer request, refusal to sign any loan contracts.

Re: Moses not signing
There is no intention for Moses to become a Chelsea regular...he's just a money making device. They've no need to do anything different with him.

E.G.

Sign for circa 10m. Outlay...10m (21 years old)

Loan for next 7 years at average 2.5m loan fee...income 17.5m

Sell at 28 years old for circa 8m.

Total outlay 10m-ish

Total income...25m ish...so 15m profit.

The numbers are guesses, but the principle holds. This is the reason they have 50 players out on loan.

Re: Moses not signing
Surely Chelsea have to make up their mind about Moses sharpish. 1 start in 4 years for his parent club. 0.11 scoring rate in league games in last 4 years. Wages reported as anything from £50k to £70k p/w.

Don't see Conte rating him - he's talking about overhauling the whole squad, and that will surely mean the end for Moses as a "Chelsea" player. If we don't want him, he'll probably end up somewhere like Watford. And be brilliant.

Re: Moses not signing
Getting him on loan was the right way to go in the end.

several new signings are better than moses therefore I think that's a sensible comment dealcanvey?

We could do better than Moses?

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. Would be a good player to have in the squad next season. especially if we make europe.

29? Try 37.

Re: Moses not signing
Supposedly Fenerbache want 8m for Emenike, I haven't seen enough from him to suggest he is worth that, especially at nearly 29.

Re: Moses not signing
I'd probably keep Emenike as I see him as our second best striker at the moment.

Re: Moses not signing
I'd stick a cheeky 6.5m take it or leave it bid for Moses. New gaffer might have no interest.

Re: Moses not signing
We can probably do better than Moses and Emenike so I would let both go.

Moses does this pretty much everywhere he goes, so would only be worth a punt on a free and on our terms.

Isn't Song on a free after this season?

I thought it would have been useful to keep him if we qualified for Europe, he'd be decent on a rotational basis.

Re: Moses not signing
he's bang average isn't he, strong and quick but delivers about 1 great game in 4
makes sense to aim for something younger and hungrier

Re: Moses not signing
Should be a very interesting window for West Ham United - I reckon it's right to unload all three of the loanees.

If we want to be top 6 next season, we need to try to have better performers at the club. Tore for Moses, Nordtveit for Song, and a number 9 for Emenike, to challenge Sakho.

geoffpikey 9:41 Tue Apr 5
Re: Moses not signing
The Song loan deal apparently includes a clause that if he plays a certain number (undisclosed) of games (it's 15 so far this season) it triggers a permanent move from Barcelona. I've read - sorry, can't recall where - that 15 is apparently "close".

So don't expect to see him much at all again. With Kouyate out for 3 we need Obiang to shine.
